May 26, 2011:

Our sixth day fishing the Spring King Salmon Derby the month of May in Juneau, Alaska from our skiff at Tee Harbor...



A beautiful day to be in the skiff taking photographs of the delightful scenery.
...The wind was up, so it was bit choppy...





A day on the water with my best friend ~ my husband...

It's a derby out there...





A crisp blue and clear day, so Bald Eagles were soaring off and on all day long...





Only on a very clear day was I able to capture this mountain behind Tee Harbor...

The sun is starting to set over the mountains, with a skiff off the entrance of Tee Harbor...

Well, the skiff is out of the water...we're heading home (no fish today ;) ~ this is a view of Auk Nu Cove where the ferry terminal is located in Juneau, Alaska

May 21 and 22, 2011:

My husbands third and fourth days fishing the Spring King Salmon Derby the month of May in Juneau, Alaska from our skiff...(Blustery days; no fish - although wildlife sightings ;)...



A deer on the side of the road on my husband's drive out to the fishing grounds, basically near the same place we saw a doe a couple of weeks ago...



He came upon two more deer further out the road...



He was lucky to capture close-up photographs of this whale while fishing from his skiff...




This is how close the whales swim at times to the shoreline, incuding near boats (it was feeding on herring)...




Friends crusin' by to chat with the hubs...

May 8, 2011:

Our second day fishing the Spring King Salmon Derby the month of May in Juneau, Alaska from our skiff...(An overcast "Mother's Day," although still pristine - and no fish were caught by us today ;)...

The herring were in abuncance, so the Marbled Murrelets were generally swimming as couples everywhere...




The hubby waiting for King Salmon to bite the hook, although we did not have any luck catching them today, so we enjoyed all the beauty Tee Harbor has to offer...

 Post our fishing outing, Max is filleting out his 40 lb and my 17 lb King Salmon we caught yesterday in the derby that we had on ice - he's preparing to make a nice Mother's Day dinner; plus we hung our USA Flag out today...
