The Dormant Mount Edgecumbe Volcano with Crater Ridge on the right... |
A very spectacular day to be visiting beautiful Sitka... |
This healthy seagull has a tidbit in its mouth... |
Only a few Trumpeter Swans winter in Sitka... |
Max says, "This is a Spoonbill Duck!"... |
A Raven perched basking in the sun in a nearby tree along the shoreline of the lake... |
Max captured another photograph of the same Trumpeter Swan...what graceful birds they are... |
Max's friend Rich Davis' commercial boat the F/V West Bank moored at the harbor in Sitka... |
The F/V West Bank is sporting a shiny new aluminum hay rack... |
Nice! - I bet Rich Davis is super proud of his beautiful boat, as he should be... |
Yep...it's my friendly baby squirrel eating a miniature pine cone - too precious... |
He likes his photograph taken... |
A dark-eyed junco (junko) eating seeds... |
The same dark-eyed junco (junko) basking in the sunshine... |
A huge raven took great interest when my husband was eating his lunch in his pickup while taking a break from working on our commercial boat nearby... |
Oh, yes - he had a buddy nearby as well. Max said, "I felt sorry for them - I wanted to give them some food but it's illegal, and too many people were watching anyway"... |
Ravens are no rare species by any means, although they are a treat to watch at times, especially when this one started squawking his head off, which was directed at his rival ;) |
