my father in law's deck during our first
family 2011 springtime barbeque last Saturday evening...

March 24, 2011: A beautiful day in Sitka, Alaska (aka Sitka by the Sea)...

March 24, 2011:

My husband Max captured the following
photographs during his recent trip to Sitka, Alaska (aka Sitka by the Sea)...

The Dormant Mount Edgecumbe Volcano
with Crater Ridge on the right...

A very spectacular day to be visiting beautiful Sitka...

This healthy seagull has a tidbit in its mouth...

Only a few Trumpeter Swans winter in Sitka...

Max says, "This is a Spoonbill Duck!"...

A Raven perched basking in the sun in a nearby tree
along the shoreline of the lake...

Max captured another photograph
of the same Trumpeter Swan...what graceful birds they are...

Max's friend Rich Davis' commercial boat the
F/V West Bank moored at the harbor in Sitka...

The F/V West Bank is sporting a shiny new
aluminum hay rack...

Nice! - I bet Rich Davis is super proud of his
beautiful boat, as he should be...

March 21, 2011: A typical day greeted by Alaska wildlife in our yard...

March 21, 2011:

The following photographs are wildlife
that we were greeted with during our daily activities recently here
 in Juneau, Alaska...

Yep...it's my friendly baby squirrel eating a
miniature pine cone - too precious...

He likes his photograph taken...

A dark-eyed junco (junko) eating seeds...

The same dark-eyed junco (junko) basking in the sunshine...

A huge raven took great interest when my husband was eating his lunch in his pickup while taking a break from working on our commercial boat nearby...

Oh, yes - he had a buddy nearby as well. Max said, "I felt sorry for them - I wanted to give them some food but it's illegal, and too many people were watching anyway"...

March 21, 2011: A moonlit night the latter part of March...

March 21, 2011:

A series of five photographs of our beautiful winter sunset
we had last night here in Juneau, Alaska
~ The evening was very breathtaking ~

March 16, 2011: Ravens playing in the backyard...

March 16, 2011:

A raven just paid me a visit in my backyard.
This one was kind of playing 'hide and seek'
with a fellow raven nearby...

Ravens are no rare species by any means,
although they are a treat to watch at times,
especially when this one started squawking his head off,
which was directed at his rival ;)

March 7, 2011: What a joy it is when Alaska Bald Eagles pay a visit...

A Bald Eagle stayed in my yard visiting just long enough this morning so I was able to capture a couple of photographs...

At the same time, here comes a cute lil' baby squirrel to see what all the commotion was about...

March 6, 2011: Sun Setting at 5:30 p.m. on a Juneau, Alaska Mountain...gotta celebrate those rare moments ;)...

These are photographs taken at 5:30 p.m. tonight when the sun was setting on a mountain here in Juneau, Alaska...

These are a follow-up to the previous five I posted earlier this morning taken at 7:30 a.m. below...got to celebrate those rare moments while we have these sunny days here in Southeast Alaska...

And, we were graced with the presence of a slivered moon and stars beginning to show their appearance at 6:30 p.m. tonight as well...what a treat!...

March 6, 2011: Breathtaking Mountains in Juneau, Alaska today...

What a beautiful sight to behold, this is what we woke up to this morning ~ we definately are blessed to live in God's Country here in Southeast Alaska!

Finally, a much appreciated calm morning after experiencing up to 80 mph extreme winds over the past week...
