December 29, 2012:

My husband and I spent a mostly snowy
although wonderful winter day
sport fishing and sightseeing
aboard our 43' F/V Chelsey
in Juneau, Alaska...

Captain Max shoveling several inches of snow
that had fallen during the night
before getting underway at about 7:00 a.m

Deer hunters...
Well, all we were lucky enough
to catch today were four cod,

here's a rather large one
we threw back...
A series of photographs of a regal bald eagle
that spotted the cod
and circled around it a couple of times
trying to grasp it in its talons,
but to no avail as it turns out the cod was too large
for the eagle to carry away...

The seagulls tend wait
until the very last minute
defying this big boat approaching

before taking flight...

Captain Max
watching the fishing rods
while wishing that a nice

winter king salmon would bite...

No luck catching any winter king salmon today,
time to pull up the gear...
